shade sail in showgarden at Gardeners World Live NEC Birmingham LIS Products Ltd are proud to have been asked by recently formed local community interest company - Simply Gardening For Schools to supply them with a Fabric Shade Sail for their show garden at the BBC Gardeners' World Live show at the Birmingham NEC running between 10th June and 14th June 2009.

Managing Director - John Cavill is aiming for a Gold Medal with his 'A World Outside The Classroom' design. The garden will be dismantled after the show and rebuilt at Leys Farm Junior School in Bottesford, North Lincolnshire.

The garden will create an interactive learning area outside the normal constraints of the classroom and will feature an under glass growing area, raised vegetable & herb beds, fruit bushes, wildlife area with a loggery.  Composting, water saving and recycling is also incorporated in the garden to educate the children in these areas of horticulture.

John wanted to include an area where the children could sit and enjoy the beauty of nature and watch the wildlife without being at risk of getting burnt by the sun - this is where we came in......

We know that having shaded areas for play and relaxation is important in a school or nursery environment. Not only does it protect children from the effects of harmful UV rays it also extends the time they can use outdoor areas by providing a cool and comfortable environment.

Fabric sunshades are extremely versatile and beautiful and can be designed and manufactured to suit any outdoor area and in the case of this garden a Fabric sunshade was the obvious answer, fitting beautifully into Johns design giving both protection from the sun and a stunning visual impact at height in the garden.

Images of the finished garden including our sunshade will be available to view after the 14th June 2009.  Meanwhile if you want to view some of our other sunshade installations please click here
