CASE STUDY – Southeaster Rail - Phase 2

Extensive groundworks for Bromley North Station

As part of our cycle parking contract with Southeaster Rail we were asked to undergo extensive groundworks for Bromley North station prior to installing cycle parking.

The site was challenging with concrete and rubble in the soil and a number of large tree roots that needed removing. We also had to remove and relay a block paving area to 14m x 12m.

THE SOLUTION

As part of the ground works we -

  • Installed tree pits with root suppression systems to 3m depth
  • CAT scanning to allow for underground services
  • Relayed 14m x 12m of block paving
  • Installed 18 bollards and 3 collapsible bollards

This work was carried out within the 2 week schedule and also required Lockit-Safe to re-route the passenger entrance into the station with safety fencing and signage.

Unlike some other products on the market, ALL of our bike stands and cycle shelters are made of hot dipped galvanised steel to BS EN ISO 1461. This ensures durability and longevity of the product whilst also providing an excellent base for polyester powder coating if required.
